Here is the list of tweets that were collected throughout the day to provide people on Facebook with a semi-coherent chronology of what was going on when the SCAF attacked the Coptic protest against sectarian violence. There was so much more, but this is what Salma Abdou (who was tag-teaming with me throughout the day to scan feeds and post the information - Salma, you're amazing! Thank you!) and I were able to put together throughout the day.
And I want to make something clear. What happened was not really about religion although the intent of the march was clear. What happened was that a peaceful march attended by both Christians and Muslims was attacked by the military. That is what it boils down to. 23 Egyptians died today and 186 were wounded. That is it! That's what happened! How can this happen?
Here are the tweets that Salma and I posted as updates. See for yourselves what people on the ground saw and reported on.
